Where: Encino, CA

What a day,
1. I woke at 6am and walked into my office to find a box of finished “Vai Live at the Astoria” DVDs.
2. I was out the door to the Beverly Hilton as I was invited by The Recording Academy to announce the grammy nominees for Best Alternative Music category and got to hang out and talk with Moby, Dido, Sarah McLachlan, Amy Lee from Evanescence, and some other very cool folks. The media was staggering and although I am not usually fond of doing press, I got a kick out of it.
3. People were congratulating me and I didn’t know why until I was told that I received a nomination in the category of best rock instrumental performance with the song “Essence” From Archives Vol 3. Very nice!
4. I then went to the studio to put the finishing touches on the mixes for the my portion of the G3 DVD and CD and I’m truly thrilled with the way it sounds.
5. And now I’m off to write a song that I will perform in a movie that I am playing a small part in. (very small) It’s called Aurora Borealis and stars Juliette Lewis, Donald Sutherland and some others.
Some days are just…. good!
