For those of you who missed the G3 tours, or for those of you who just can’t get enough of that wonderful stuff, Epic Records has released the ‘G3 Live In Concert’ compact disc and home video! While the CD was primarily recorded in Chicago on Nov 1, 1996, the video was recorded the next day in Minneapolis, so you can buy both and get two different shows. Each features three songs from Joe Satriani, 3 from Eric Johnson, and 3 from Steve Vai, as well as 3 songs where all three players jam onstage to covers of Jeff Beck’s “Going Down”, Frank Zappa’s “My Guitar Wants To Kill Your Mama” (with Steve & Mike Keneally on vocals!) and Jimi Hendrix’s “Red House”.
