Something wrong with G3 Live In Tokyo CD sound

#1 Post by droopy » Thu Oct 27, 2005 6:49 pm

Hello everyone !!! I'm from Argentina and I purchased the G3 Live In Tokyo CD.The thing is that I don't like the way it's mixed.I'm not shure if it's my copy or what but it sounds more from the right side than from the left side.
I would like to know your opinions. How does it sound yours ?
Maybe it's the version that is made in argentina ?
By the way, the songs and the performances are great, and Steve's performance in particular !!!

Saludos for all !!!

Hello droopy,

Did you buy your DVD here in Argentina? If so, You have two choices:

a) That it has been imported from USA
b) That It could be an illegal version of it, because Sony Music is releasing G3 Live in Tokio´s DVD in Argentina on next Monday, November 15th (I´ve called them 6 times asking about the release day of this DVD).

BTW; the CD version has already been released here.

Cheers,

Patrick

hi again droopy,

Yesterday I´ve received G3´s new CD set as a present, and I fully agree with you: the whole CD sounds ......strangelly mixed....

I´ll ask mikey about this to know if is a local Sony BMG´s problem (Argentina).

I Purchased the G3 Tokyo DVD and the stereo image is definately more prevalent in right channel, switching between 5.1 or pcm stereo doesn't change that. The sound quality is good but I certainly would have enjoyed the performance more if someone would have been paying more attn to what they were doing during this DVD's creation.

Guys! This thread is about a sound problem of the cd, not the dvd.
Droopy and backfromdead, read my suggestion in the other thread.

Hope it helps you a little further!

Droopy and backfromdead, any success yet with your cd's?
Just to inform you that, apparently there is a security concern with the copy protection stuff on the cd and now Sony is recalling the cd's.
So, there's your chance!!!!!!!!

I ordered mine from amazon and amazon mailed me to send the cd back for a full refund......not sure if I will, though.....

This is the mail:

Hello from Amazon.com.

We're writing about your order for the following CD(s):

Live In Tokyo

The Sony CD(s) listed above contain XCP digital rights management
(DRM) software. Due to security concerns raised about the use of CDs containing this software on PCs, Sony has recalled these CDs and has asked Amazon.com to remove all unsold CDs with XCP software from our store.

Since you purchased this CD from Amazon.com, you may return it to us for a full refund regardless of whether the CD is opened or unopened.
Just visit www.amazon.com/returns and indicate that the CD is "defective" as the reason for return.

Thank you for your understanding. We hope to see your again soon at Amazon.com.

Sincerely,

Amazon.com
