well i think a lot of that is cuz satch records directly into a computer. live his tone is totally different it sounds pretty sweet live to me at least.
that being said i'm not a big fan of satches amps lol

I played one and was less than impressed.
They are overpriced, and have very few features to show for it. Tone is ok at best.

so it is 499, here is what else you can get for 499.

so anyways you get my point, I think you can find better amps for the price but still get Joe's tone. To me the mini sorta sounds like a peavey classic 20 or something simular. If you dig the tone of the mini check out the classic 20 combo 30 head or 50 head/combo.

+1! I tried out a Mini Colossal and a Peavey Classic 30 and the Classic 30 destroyed the MC...I mean, pissed all over it and it was only $150 more. If you want a kid's toy, go with the MC. If you want a real tube amp, go with a C30. I made a video with the Classic 30 and Satchurator months ago, and I nailed the Satch tone. See for yourself:j.arledge wrote:I played one and was less than impressed.

Mini Colossal? I don't agree with you, with respect.Svelt Pen wrote:Fizzy, no headroom, no character....
To my recollection it's been used on Stach's new album to cut a track with. I could be wrong.

Don't be too discouraged, try one out for yourself. If you like it then that's all that matters. I would definitely recommend checking out a classic 30 as well though.

i bought one......
and sold it within 2 weeks. I honestly gave it a try, mic'ing it....using the direct outs......and it just didnt do anything for me.
for the guy who said "Fizzy, no headroom, no character...."........you hit the nail on the head! It has NO TONE AT ALL.
A decent clean tone, if you turn the gain almost to zero, and roll back your guitar volume knob some....but for dirty tones, its just a fizzy nightmare. It almost sounds like its crappy solid state amp with a broke speaker.....
i was disapointed for sure......
