Holy Moses!! I just came back from Apeldoorn (NL), I was over this dude's
house who had Marshall JCM-800 for me to check out. And that amp is just freakin'
AMAZING. The best tube sound I ever heard. This JCM-800 isn't a reissue, But a
real one from 1986. 50 watt lead series. 2x12 speaker setup
Im going to buy it in a few weeks. AMAZING!!
I will post some pics soon..
Marshall JCM-800
i have tired a couple and was far less then impressed. Each to his own though. If you are going to buy a marshall get something jcm 800 or older. Everything before the 800 is soild stuff, but anything IMO is trash. Especially the dsl tsl 2000 series. The mode 4 was probably one of the worst ones.

I agree with you especially for the most recent models, but if Steve himself toured with a JCM 900 that means it's an "o.k" amp.(incredibly not versatile and not the best clean sound ever but fairly good -rock- distortion that if overdrived properly can sound great)j.arledge wrote:i have tired a couple and was far less then impressed. Oh and hum yes I own one!

I had a JCM 800 back in the early/mid 90s (not sure what year the amp was, but I bought it used) and it was the best amp I've ever owned. Like an idiot I sold it. It had a wonderful smokey crunch - not too much gain, but enough to really rock. The only downside was that it was very loud, but that's rock & roll. No reverb, either, but there are many solutions for that.
I had a Marshall 4x10 cab with it, and while the amp head didn't quite sit on it squarely, it sounded great. I've been a fan of 4x10s ever since. I used that head with several other cabs, but none of them sounded as good as the 4x10.

Soo a little variation in speaker size and .cabs in a setup can do alot for
your sound??
Well folks, Its FINALLY here!! A true classic. A Marshall JCM-800 lead series
from 1986. And the sound is truly AMAZING!! I'll post some photo's soon.
Only, The downside is. The guy who sold it to me forgot to include the
footpedal and a set of tubes he promised. So I'll have to pick those up
at his house. But I think that's not going to be a problem.
Again, Pics are coming soon.

A video? I would love too,....But im very, very shy.
When I find the time, I will make some recordings. If the recorder finally works.
But the JCM is from 1986, And the legacy is from early 90's?? And there two totally
diffrent, And both have there unique tone offcourse. But I love both of them.

I'm 100% with bennyvx78 on this, those JCM-800 are tone beasts.
I'd really like to see a video of you showing us what this babe can do.
