Hello! About Legacy...

The name says it all! Discuss Steve's studios, your studios and gear set-ups, amps and effects here. This is not for discussing guitars (Steve's or otherwise).

I haven't been here in a while (maybe 2 years) Could someone fill me in about the Legacy? How versatile is this amp? Are there any GOOD clips I can hear of this thing on the forum?

Thanks :D

Interesting.. This amp seems to have a relatively "Dark" sounding distortion? Don't you agree?

dark.....sort of...........i would say it has a "smoother" sounding distortion. Not as much of a "chain saw buzz" sounding distortion as you would associate with most hi-gain amps.........this amp has a more smoother tone.

ya, it doesnt have a crushing amount of gain, but for me it has more than enough, and it is just sooo damn smooth, as long as your playing is smooth ;)

No. Mic'd the Legacy and hit record. I've never tried using the line out, yet. I can record a clip using the line out if you'd like? What do I do? Line out directly to the mixer or right into my soundcard?

Holy crap dude your tunes kick ass, if you are in the competition in the self promotion section I'm voting for you.

You've got a closer sound to satriani than most people do with the actual satriani signature amp lol. Which shows you don't have to sound like steve vai just because you own a legacy nor will you sound like satriani with a jsx.

Was that a good or bad thing? Was there something those clips were lacking? I'm always up for comments, ideas or help.

Maybe I'll try the line out, see how that sounds. I should get a chance sometime this week.
