I spoke to Dave Weiner on thursday and asked him if we knew anything about this guitar, but he didn't... So, still in the air I guess...

Even some "damage control" (I believe it's the term they use in PR), anything, an explanation for the horrible sticker and the price.Krr wrote:I have to agree, it would be nice to hear Steve or Ibanez comment on all the negative criticism (some of which I, however reluctantly, agree with).

As far as price it could be worse. Gilbert's "Fireman" retails for just over $9k.

well, of course it COULD be, that the guitar and its design are not in production yet, in fact I think so. I mean the picture we got wasn´t from a real guitar, it was a graphic. And since the concept is there, the design can easily be changed.
I´m not going to buy it anyway, just like I said, a JEM just IS no hard tail guitar for me

True, but it's still a third higher than say the Jem 20th was. The Fireman is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship though. The Jem hardtail being the same price as the 7VWH is hard to swallow though, considering Paul's new 401 is retailing for $800 less and I'm sure is more expensive to produce than the new Jem.RAI wrote:Paul's "Fireman" is a limited edition/anniversary model.notavirtuoso wrote:As far as price it could be worse. Compare that to Steve's or Satch's, and 9K seems reasonable.
Speaking of Paul, they're going to reissue another of his former guitars this year and you get to vote for which one you want most. Vote here.
According to Rich over on Jemsite, it retails at $3466.65.Patill wrote:you know, the "worth" of a guitar depends on how much somebody is willing to pay for it. Not more, and not less.
I don't know anyone except very dedicated collectors who'd pay that kind of price.
