Re: Tubes question and replacements.

If the amp is fixed biased (voltage running through the powertubes) how do you mean "voltage running through power tubes"? pulled from eurotubes.com #5. "Can I get high gain power tubes?" Answer: The short answer is no. This is a tough one to explain so I'll start from the beginning. When tubes are...

Re: Tubes question and replacements.

tube life also depends on the amp. If the amp is fixed biased (voltage running through the powertubes) and the bias is set below the tube's rating then the tube isn't worked quite as hard, but this can produce crossover distortion because the signal is never truely gets out of a distortion. The orig...

Re: Strat Tremolo

your probably not going to be able to do anything too crazy with the strat trem. You can greatly improve the trem's usefullness by upgrading the to nut to graphite and changing out the tuners, but the strat bridge has a limited range of movement. you could check into this http://www.stewmac.com/shop...

Re: Wolfgang templates.

well i am sure there are templates out there but my advice is just eyeball it. Get your body blank, and some posterboard paper and draw it out on the paper and cut it out, then put on the body blank to check and see if you like it and or what needs to be changed. You can base your neck pocket and co...

Re: Sorry another amp question.

you can dial back a jcm 800 and they sound ok for jazz and lighter stuff, i am not sure why everyone thinks the 800 is a metal amp. Yeah metal dudes use them but guys like zakk wylde have active pickups, and overdriver/distortion to hit the front end of the amp. I played one with a schecter that had...

Re: look what I just got!

there is an rg450 the same color with a maple board at a local pawn shop, they want a little too much for it though.

I am pertty sure you can swap the trem out for an orginal floyd rose if you were looking to dress it up.

Re: Peavey Mini Colossal..anyone have one, whats it like?

I played one and was less than impressed. They are overpriced, and have very few features to show for it. Tone is ok at best. http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Peavey-JSX-Mini-Colossal-Guitar-Amp?sku=480777" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; so it is 499, here is what else you c...

Re: Axl Bad Water Guitars

I havn't checked prices recently but i know they weren't going for much over 300 last i looked. Seriously i have heard great things about agile guitars. ...

I still think that marshalls are one of the best, they where responsible of some classic rock sounds. But I guess I'd better be carefull when choosing a marshall. my 'O my.. what will my next amp be? How about a Orange? Orange makes some great stuff. I heard the tiny terror at the Dallas guitar sho...
