Re: Douglas 7 string guitar

what probably happened is your trem got somthing(dust, dead skin, or metal shavings from the kife edges) in between the posts and knife edges. I am a guitar tech and have setup ALOT of floyds, and 90% of the problems with tunning and stability can be solved by pulling the floyd and post out of the g...

Re: Douglas 7 string guitar

well springs really dont make any difference, and to be fair i have seen some good stuff come out of china like the szr series . The szr720 we have in stock is amazingly well done for china.

Re: Douglas 7 string guitar

i bought an agile 8 string, and it is amazing. I would highly recommend any of the higher end stuff (agile versus douglas) to anyone and would say that you get more vaule out of the agile over any ibanez. The only reason why you pay less for the agile is because of the name and that fact that they a...

Re: Tubes in amps is it just a myth? One for debate....

well if you look at slowly technology got to guitars and the unwillingness for guitar players to switch to soild state/digital amps there is still a delay in guitar technology. You say everyone uses tubes, so you want tubes. It is one of those "well my idol used these amps so I want these amps" If n...

Re: Is a Tube dying in my amp?

some times pre amp tubes can be microphonic which makes them prone to picking up pops or squeals. You may try swithching the pre amp tubes around to see if you can get the amp to quit.

Re: Anyone have the Marshall Haze 15w amp ?

i tried the mini stack and laughed . They have taken an MG and packaged it as a tube amp. I didn't find anything exceptional about it, now if you are a fan of marshall it may do the marshall crunch thing alright but like i said i didn't find anything really impressive. the blackstar ht-5 was impress...

Re: pickup help :/

Ed was going to use the Dimarzio tone zone, he said it litterally came down to a coin flip as to which pickup he was going to use in his signature models (one of the older version not his most current fender model). Either way i think the other pickup was a seymour duncan and that was what won out. ...

Re: i think i`ve knackered the neck on my Jem-starting to panick

the truss rod will bow either way. If you hit a point where the truss rod isn't under tension then just keep turning it till the bow of the truss works the other direction. Dont crank down on the truss rod, they are hard to break and i doubt you broke yours. If it gets really hard to adjust then giv...

Re: Why is Ibanez discontinuing selling quality parts?

i am the guitar tech for my local music shop. I do the best i can but i know that i am not the greatest out there. Some guitars are hard to setup for whatever reason, and i dont always have a couple of hours to spend on every guitar. It isn't a matter of me not being able to do. If i know that i did...

Re: Why is Ibanez discontinuing selling quality parts?

well if it didn't setup right then there could be a few reasons why . First off the original edge is a little more difficult then even a normal floyd because you can't see the base plate to get it close to neutral. second he may not have the time/ability to set it up right. Most floyds i can setup i...

Re: Why is Ibanez discontinuing selling quality parts?

they quit selling the trem because they had to pay for using the floyd rose design. i think it was something like $11 or $12 per trem made. The license contract or patent for the base design of i belive the original edge ran out so that is why they switched from the edge 2 to the edge 3 so quickly. ...

Re: Question about Acoustic guitars

yep if it plays good, looks good and is a good deal go for it.

I have played many acoutics, and taylor is the best by far. We move quite a few high dollor taylors, they are more expensive then any electric we have and the electrics just sit. Taylor make an excellent acoustic

Re: Peavey Vypr

well they are alright. I played the littlest combo amp and it was ok but i'd rather get a line 6 for the same price.

Anyways we got a big peavey shipment in and there are a few more vypers in there so i'll try to get a video of one or two in action

Re: 250k, 500, 1mg

250k 250k pots are typically used in strats and teles that are equipted with single coils. The 250 pot is sort of springy and when used with humbuckers it limits the high end signal because part of the high end is constantly rolled off to the ground. It is like having a 500k pot at half power on a l...
