or for a general basic sound........ill set it at 460 ms, feedback at about 10 (2 repeats) and a level of 10 (out of 100). very subtle and light.............
and also use a small amount of studio reverb, to give it some space.

evo pickup height..........

does anybody know what the pickup height is in millameters on evo? If the strings are pressed at the 24th fret and measured in millameters, what is the bridge and neck height of the high and low E strings? This may be a question for Mikey (hint, hint....) but if anyone out there knows please do tell!

hey mikey! question on POGO.........

Ive read that steve used a guitar called POGO with 'Breed' pickups in it. It was also said that he used this guitar on "the blood and tears" song. What other songs did he use the 'Breed' pickups on? I just wanted to know to get a better idea of how the pickups sound other than that song............

try the NORTON(not the air norton), but the original. if ya like the sound and overtones of the FRED, the regular NORTON is like that but with boostd output. Its smack dead in the middle of a FRED and the EVOLUTION as far as output and tone. Its dimarzios most versitile pickup they have.

EL34's break up and distort when driven hard( turning the amp up past 7). 6L6 have more headroom( dont break up or distort as much at higher levels). EL34's are more rounded in tone and are warm when pushed hard. 6L6 are a bit more edgy when pushed hard. in fact.....just buy a Carvin Legacy, and you...

I feel the same way everyone else does. Modeling amps are great to some extent. But to me.....modeling amps are like cheap impostor colognes, they are less expensive and try to be like the original. I personaly just saved up and got the real thing! Amp modelers just dont FEEL or REACT like a real tu...

my wacky settings......

I use 2 delay units that run into one another........first is set at 450 ms. with 25% mix and 20 % feedback (about 2-3 repeats), with then runs into the second delay unit set at 700 ms. with only a 8-10% mix and 20% feedback.

if the new pro trem in 2003...........

If the new pro trem in the jem 2003 lineup has the "tremsetter" thingy in the back tremelo cavity.......will this reduce the WARRBLE when you depress the bar (turned 180 degress torwards the strap clip) and let it snap back? I know Steve likes to manipulate notes like this to create weird sounds, an...

in the site, there should be.........

Wouldnt it be great for all the techno-heads and know it alls could go into the part of the site to find way too much detailed info about the Vai tracks and songs.......... for example....on track songs list what amps and guitars were used on that particular song, or even better yet.....what effects...
