Sounds to me like he's not doing what a guitar teacher should do...encourage you. I've never had this happen to me, but I can imagine how it feels. It all does seem so pointless at the moment, but in reality it's never pointless. Learning to play the guitar is an art, and if you enjoy doing it, then...

i am not reallly even sure if standar and f spacin aply to 7 strings . If your guitar is fixed bridge then dont worry about getting f-spaced . The site I was browsing had an option to get the Evolution 7 in standard or F spacing...I don't want to order the pickups and find out I ordered the wrong k...

Okay, I've decided to go ahead and order an Evolution-7_bridge) and a PAF-7(neck)... I'm going to just get the guy at the shop to replace the pickups.... I'm mainly posting on this thread again to mourn the loss of 150 bucks lol. I hope it's worth it ^_^. EDIT: just before i was about to order I cam...

about every 3 hours of play I have to discard my pick. It gets really rounded at the tip. I use a heavy pick. The purple ones that are a little powdery with the turtle on them. They are my favorite ones as far as feeling goes. How the %)(#* do you wear those things out in only 3 hours? I hope I'm n...

A guitar is a guitar. If you're happy with the sound and it plays nicely. You don't need to do anything to it! I've never tried any "raven" guitars, but nowadays it's hard to find a guitar that just plaine sucks. I mean sure you can, but even the RG150's($200) at the guitar center are really nice pl...

Move next to a nuclear power plant, that should solve your problem. :D Actually as someone mentioned..finger stretches! I've told people about how I'll do "finger splits" basically just streching them slowly as far as they can comfortably go apart, and they will look at me all weird like "Yeah right...

I think I hold the pick wrong :(...
I've only been playing guitar for about a year now..(bass for two years) and I'd say I was fairly decent. I know @)(*# about theory though, but I figure most stuff out by ear. Anyways...I noticed everyone held the pick differently than I did, at first I thought it was just a preference thing but the...

I have bought several dimarzios for 52$. :D Yeah but then I gotta pay the dude at guitar ally 20 bucks to do t...

Pickup question..
What would happen if I mixed an evolution 7 in the bridge of my guitar with a stock pickup in the neck position? I've heard mixed-replies to this question. Some have said it wouldn't do anything bad, other's have said it would mess up the sound. I'm happy with the sound I get from the stock pickups,...

The dust has well and truly settled on RI:R now and I've heard it a million times. I have to say there isn't a song on the whole thing I dislike now-even Firewall is pretty funky! The only track I'm not 100% keen on is 'Under it All'. It doesn't really seem to be a piece of music so much as a vehic...

I find virgil's technical ability impressive. And his endurance O_O...dear lord he just keeps on going! But still..I find his drum solo on the "Live in the Astoria" DVD to be really...well...boring. Sure it's a great display of his talent, it just seemed to drag on a bit too long or something. I don...

The DS-1 sounds great with my 30 watt solid-state amp...or at least I think it does ><. I normally have the tone at 1/4th or 3/4ths and the dist. at 3/4ths while using it to boost my amps natural distortion with my amps gain at like 4. It really smooths out my tone and gives it a lot of interesting ...
