I tried installing an OFR I had lying around to replace the POS floyd copy on my Laguna LE524. It happens that the string lock screws are mebbe 1/16th of an inch too long for the route, if that. The Laguna bridge has the fatter, shorter barrel-type screws but they won't fit in the OFR's narrow chann...

Well I got the LE524 last night. First impressions are it's a well-built instrument with a decent tone and the playability is good. It's also quite comfortable to play. Some niggles...the pickups are a tad hot for my taste and the high end can be a bit much, although it's easily rectified by turning...

Yep, never get too muscular with a bridge saddle. I'd try Rich's site as mentioned above.

I've ordered an LE 524 which is the model with the floyd/ HH combination. It's supposed to come in tomorrow and if you all like I can post a review.

Yeah as you said, it sounds like you have an old piece of string in there. Try backing the saddle screw out a good bit and see if you can find a bit of string still in there.
