i learned the chords and melody lines.

he showed me how the chords work with each other, and some substitutions.

and for some of them, what scales to use for improvising.

i play with my guitar on my right leg and i can do those kind of runs just fine. my wrist doesnt bother me or anything. its probably just because ive always done it this way and im used to it.

ive tried playing with my guitar on my left leg.. it makes it a lot harder.

yes they will effect how you play it. if you are learning a song while listening to it, then you really don't have to worry about them. but if you are reading a piece of sheet music by yourself, then they will make a difference. mainly the bottom number in the time signature, since it determines wha...
