You're welcome!bkornaker1977 wrote:WOW.......Im always "swapping pickups". Sounds like these might be a good set to try out.
Thanks for your review!
I'm not sure when they'll be available, though.

Re: New Steve Vai DiMarzio Set--Gravity Storm
So how do these sound in relationship to other Dimarzios? In your clips, they sound vintage ballsy with a hint of that upper high end "chirpy spike". Almost like a PAF Pro...but the "vocal wah" sound got moved to higher frequencies to give it some brightness. care to share your thoughts on how they...

New Steve Vai DiMarzio Set--Gravity Storm
I just got a package from DiMarzio with a set of Steve's new Gravity Storm bridge and neck humbuckers. I got them for the purpose of reviewing them for jemsite.com First of all--THANK YOU STEVE! I'm not sure what you had in mind when you sat down with Larry on these, but WOW! I love the beefed up mi...

Re: Broken Tremolo?!
well, the edge pro was the tremolo made to save money by ibanez around early 2000. It was the cut cost model. I use my ibanez ry 350 for around 5 hours a day, go ape on my trem, and never had to replace my springs. Its about time to, but anyway, I dwell it is probably best to take it to an authoriz...

That's my point, but for the previous question--Rich can't sell new stock across borders due to market restrictions.R1FSR wrote:http://www.ibanezrules.com/new/jemevo.htm

Re: Carvin Legacy III
yukk! Tend to agree. Haven't heard what it sounds like yet (I'm at work!) but it certainly doesn't appeal to me looks-wise. I wouldn't change my Legacy 1 for the world anyway. Interesting to see that Steve has time to do his orchestral thing, construct a replica Evo, build a new amp........where's ...

Re: Ibanez Evo, just accept it!!!
If this isn't aimed at anyone here--why create a rant thread here? Some will like it while some won't. It's called freedom of choice. That said, it's not 10G--that's list price. Rich is selling them for $7777.00 I agree with most, and won't shell out that much bacon for a guitar, especially a relice...

Yep--got it now! Looks interesting, too. I especially like the green LEDs inside the chassis.

Re: jem re-string
A 9v battery shoved under the trem is another useful tool. It is not necessary to change the strings one at a time--especially if you're leveling the trem with a battery, coke bottle caps, etc.

Re: Nova System and Boss DS-1
As previously mentioned, it's best to run any modulation effects through the effects loop and overdrives in front of the amp. The DS-1 is a distortion, not an overdrive. It does not "push" the tubes like an overdrive does but does act in a similar fashion--it just clips harder. You can run a distort...

Re: Breed Pickups
Between all three of the Vai sig DiMarzios--the Breeds are my favorites. I love the punchiness of the Evos, the grittiness of the Evo2, but the Breeds are the warmest of the bunch.
