When I try out a guitar, i tend to start out playing Boston Rain Melody and improvise from there on. It's quite fun, actually, especially when you're 10min into the improvision and you stop and listen and you realize how totally different the stuff you are playing is from boston rain melody. Modulat...

It's funny that you mentioned FRED. 'Cause how does Satch do it then? Go figure huh? Do you have the FRED in the neck? I mean, neck is less sensitive to pinch harmonics but it's definitly not impossible. PAF Pro is a lower output and less sensitive pup than FRED and I have no trouble getting it to s...

In order to play a clean pinch harmonic, you need to pick (pinch) the string at the exactly right spot, your attack needs to be crisp. Gain helps to bring it out but it has to be there. Now, the problem you're having could have something to do with the pickup. Some pickups are more sensitive to ove...

well, here's my opinion and my opinion only. My opinion could be ill informed so don't kill me if i'm wrong about anything. Anyway, RG350ex is one of those guitars where it's not really a higher model but it's not really a low model either. The price on it is quite considerable but its not expensive...

sorry man, an edge nor an lo-pro edge would make a direct swap with TRS. Intonation is one thing but I think the spacing between the posts cause a problem too. In all honestly, OFR are fantastic trems. What makes a trem good, most importantly, is the grade of steel used to construct it. In the case ...

$350 is by no means a cheap guitar. If you find fault with your gear for everything that you're doing wrong, you're not gonna get anywhere. Sorry to come out this harsh but it is the truth. In order to play a clean pinch harmonic, you need to pick (pinch) the string at the exactly right spot, your a...

lol sounds like every other nightmare story with floating trems. After reading your last post, I just realized that you proceeded to tune the other strings with a broken high E. Bad idea. The broken E does not carry any tensions and therefore, the spring tension greatly over powers the strings. That...

Considering that you bought an RG270, the trem on that guitar is not exactly top of the line. Depending on the year, you either have a TRS or a newer bridge. The TRS is not very well regarded. Many say the new one is better but it has not stood the test of time yet. If you have a TRS (you can tell b...
