How does the already light weight body of the Jem react being strip down much more? I mean how taking off all that wood from an already light guitar like a Jem reflects on sound?

Well actually compression is on every record you listen to. A bit here, a bit there; mainly everywhere (but not too much in order to not kill the dynamics). Live it's a completely different stuff. The steel block that remains on the strap makes strange "metal noises" when rubbing on the strap botton itself (on the guitar).

Used Schaller straplocks for quite a while now and never had any problem at all...

But those things are really noisy. DiMarzio Cliplock on my jem never had a single tiny noise.

Why go the Mac with the headphones out if you've got an USB port?

Gtr > Guitar Input
Mac > Usb Port

On GarageBand you won't be able to use Gearbox as a AU (it only works as a standalone) but you can record your guitar using any other amp simulator (Amplitube and such)
