Too much string noise, crap guitar the problem?

So I havn't been practicing much recently, just playing some old songs and jamming away. I decided I want to try and work my chops up a bit so sat down to practice some easy licks to build my speed back up. like this: 9----9-------- --12--12-10-9....... And only at 90bmp 16th notes I noticed it was ...

Ibanez RG1570 or RG2570EXVSL

Ibanez RG1570: http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/electric_guitars_detail.asp?stock=08020210160728 I'm no...

7vwh vs 555

I am thinking of getting a 7vwh but I was wondering if it would be better to get a 555 now, they now have DiMarzio pickups in them and it's half price. I know the wood is different and the vwh has scalloped frets at end of kneck (plus the tree pattern fully extended). Is the bridge different? Are th...

I have forums and want to provide news on bands etc and reviews of all the latest and best guitar albums. Aswell as some tutorials for players and interviews with artists. I hope to...

steve's tone on the aching hunger (the murder prologue)

Hi. This must be the best guitar tone I have ever heard, on the work in progress download at about 8:35 when the murder prologue comes on and carrys on into lotus feet. Do any of you know what gear he's using that has made the tone here so different from previous shows? I think it's because of the W...

how long does it take?

Hi. I was just wondering how long it takes you all to learn a lick?
Say some of steve's maybe from shyboy or any song with lots of crazy guitar runs.

How long does it take you to perfect the lick? hours, days, weeks?

Also how many new licks/songs do you learn in say a month or two.

yeah i think I get what ur sayin. I was thinkin more of doing it like pitch axis, as in i wanted the song to feel like it was in G say but use the modes to highlight each part, like make parts dramatic etc. The only thing I'm having trouble is the progressions that go along with this. Like instead o...
