Re: New Steve Vai DVD Release Date?

Yeah, it's insanely slow now. The link has been posted on countless sites, so everyone's trying to watch it...

Let's hope it will be uploaded soon to Youtube or some other place that doesn't run out of bandwidth.

Re: New Steve Vai DVD Release Date?

http://www.musicradar.com/news/guitars/steve-vai-releases-2-disc-live-dvd-212270?cpn=RSS&source=MRNEWS Not according to this... Can we get a confirmation? "The musicians in this band are: Bryan Beller (bass), Jeremy Colson (drums), Dave Weiner (guitar and sitar) and Zack Wiesinger (lap steel)." What?

The idea of a hi-energy instrumental album without months of producing and dozens of overdubs sounds very good. Just go crazy with a guitar!

Thanks for the reply If6was9, yeah I heard that Aldrich's style was more like John Sykes. That's right, and Beach plays solos more like they are on the albums. I'd say Beach plays 40% of the solos on the DVD. :D Coverdale has said the he was shocked when he heard what the final version Slip Of The ...

For some reason it's hard for me to review this album. I like the songs, but it's difficult to comment them. I'll give it a try anyway: 'Building The Church' - Great opener, great guitar melodies. 'Dying For Your Love' - Slow vocal track with heavy drums. Tricky vocals to sing, Steve manages to soun...

Btw does anybody have the "An Evening With John Petrucci & Jordan Rudess" CD? From what I have heard it sounds great.

Cheers
shacks
It's all instrumental (guitar-bass-drums only).

I have the Petrucci-Rudess album, it's good.

I remember reading two reviews when the album was released. Both of them were positive...

Yeah, that's a sign of a true professional to think that Devin sings on Rescue Me Or Bury Me.

There is one site which has the lyrics and the chords:

http://www.ultrazone.org/tabs/Steve_Vai ... e_Moon.txt

The chorus is "all the sunshine and people..." and I'd say it's "An' his tears seem to...". Otherwise it seems to be correct.

I didn't check the chords.

Melodic Dreamer: Are you trying to tune the guitar an octave too high? Strings don't break that easily. Or maybe there is a sharp part in the guitar that cuts the string?

There are some a bit boring songs (2, 3, 10, 11) on the album, but most songs have good arrangements and are performed well. It's great that they have the raw band sound like in the 70's again. It's also good that the first single is a rocker (Baby, Please Don't Go). The sticker on the CD doesn't me...

DC mentioned in his website that he had a dinner with Steve earlier this year, if I remember correctly. He didn't reveal what they talked about. I like Slip... a lot also, but I think it was too much to handle for many people. I remember when I first listened to that album in 1990, I didn't get any ...

Steve's Major Impacts 2 will be released in January 2004. It was delayed probably because of the Deep Purple album released this month.

He is so busy with Purple (who tour all the time), his solo work and other things that presumably he hasn't been able to join G3 tour even if asked.
